Kanegato

This time, I'd like to introduce Kanegato.

Kanegoat is a modacrylic fiber made from a copolymer of acrylonitrile and vinyl chloride.

It has a texture similar to animal hair, is soft, and has the characteristic of easily absorbing moisture due to its irregular cross-section.

It also has resistance to paint solvents such as thinner and alcohol.

It also possesses flame retardancy, with a LOI value of approximately 27 (this is not a guaranteed value).

It is used not only for industrial brushes and paintbrushes, but also for face brushes!

It's incredibly soft and comfortable, so please give it a try! (The photo shows a face brush.)

The main Kanegato varieties are:

"KCL 110Dtex," "KCL 66Dtex," "KCL 27Dtex," "KCW 5WT," and "KCR 4WT"—five types in total.

Furthermore, there are two forms: "TOW" and "Hank."

TOW refers to a bundle of long, thin fibers.

Because it is not bundled together in its spun form, it cannot be used as filament yarn.

There is a type of synthetic fiber spinning called tow spinning, which involves spinning rayon or acrylic TOW (which has the same form) after crimping and cutting.

On the other hand, hank is made by bundling multiple TOW strands together into a cylindrical shape approximately 5 cm in diameter and 70 cm in length.

When processing into brushes and other accessories, hank is easier to handle, so we generally ship in hank form.
