Washi Yarn

This time, we'd like to introduce washi yarn.

Previously, we introduced "Washi Ring," a decorative yarn using washi slits.

This time, we'd like to introduce a yarn made from 100% washi paper.

Here it is.

This yarn is made from two types of raw materials: Manila hemp and coniferous trees. The yarn count is 1/40.

As shown in our article introducing washi rings, this yarn is made by twisting slit-shaped washi paper. It's a yarn characterized by the crisp texture unique to washi paper.

While it's a sustainable material with excellent moisture absorption and release properties, it naturally differs from regular yarn in that it's simply twisted paper, so it has no stretch.

Therefore, it's often used in combination with cotton yarn, etc.

We also have a 1/30 washi 55% rayon blend (45% washi).
